Undercover Investigation of Hy-Line Hatchery

This is very disheartening on the way they treat the chicks as if they are objects, not living organisms. I’m not sure what we can do to stop this from happening, but millions of male chicks die each year because of this. I don’t think that the mere act of not buying eggs will help since we will need a great deal of people to do the same, in order for it to make a difference. I’m sure there must be some kind of petition going around about this. If there is, send it my way!

Maybe buying eggs that are from free-range chickens would help but I think there are loose regulations on what is considered free-range chickens.

What can ┬ácompanies do instead of killing all these male chicks? I know some people would want to raise some chickens as pets or for food in the future. However, there is millions of chicks each year so I’m not sure how that would work.

Any ideas?

Pet Peeves

These are my top pet peeves at the moment and I’m not even the type to get annoyed easily. These are not in any specific order.

1. Restaurant Reviews

When I go to Yelp or any other site with restaurant reviews, I’m mainly there to see reviews of how good the food was. If it’s amazing, please rate it highly. Give a star less if the service was horrible. Please.

2. Grocery Carts

Why can’t people put the grocery carts in the cart corral?!? It takes less than a minute to put it where it belongs. When people place their shopping carts in the parking spaces, the cart can hit other cars and cause damage or it gets in the way for other people to park in that space. Please take 30 seconds to put it in the cart corral.

3. Littering

There are trash cans everywhere in the U.S.!! I don’t see why people blatantly litter! Just save your garbage and throw it in a garbage can. It’s that simple. No one wants to live in your trash. For example, people placing their fast food bag and drink in the parking lot, kids throwing their bags of chips in the park, throwing cigarettes on the ground/out of your car, etc. It’s not that difficult to save your garbage until you reach a garbage can. Again, no one wants to live in your filth.

4. Not Responding to Messages

Nowadays, we are always connected to the internet. We receive e-mails, texts, messages, etc. and we are constantly checking it. We usually get quick responses from people because we are always connected, but it’s okay if it takes a day or two to respond. I’m talking about people who NEVER respond. For example, if I’m asking you a question on if you’d like to meet up for an event, it’s not that difficult to say, “Sorry, I’m busy” or “I’m not sure but I’ll let you know”. It’s not going to hurt my feelings if you say no or that you’re not interested. Having NO response is just annoying. Please just take a few seconds out of your busy life to respond.
